ST LUKE’S POLICY
At St Luke’s our policies are grouped around five areas of care: people, integrity, resources, relationships, and mission.
They help us protect the vulnerable, handle power and finances transparently, steward what we have wisely, clarify responsibilities, and keep our ministries aligned with our calling.
We strive to be sure that our policies are not filed away and forgotten. They are living documents, reviewed regularly by our PCC, clergy, and ministry leaders to be refined where needed, and used as practical guides in the day-to-day life of the Church.
The PCC are in the midst of reviewing and standardising our policy documents, and below you will find the those that have been reviewed so far. As you read, we invited you to wrestle with them honestly, and share any feedback as we work to shape a life that is coherent, accountable, and alive in the Sprit.
Protecting People
We are called to be a community where the vulnerable are safe and every person’s dignity is honoured. These policies exist to guard against harm and to ensure that, if something goes wrong, we act with courage and clarity.
Protecting Integrity
We are called to be a community marked by truthfulness, accountability, and transparency. These policies exist to guard against corruption, misuse of power, or hidden misconduct, and to ensure that leadership remains trustworthy and open to scrutiny.
Protecting Resources
We are called to steward faithfully all that has been entrusted to us. These policies exist to ensure that our finances, buildings, and information are handled wisely and transparently, so that generosity is honoured and trust is maintained.
Protecting Relationships
We are called to be a community marked by clarity, mutual respect, and shared responsibility. These policies exist to define expectations, establish healthy boundaries, and provide fair processes when disagreements arise, so that our life together remains gracious, honest, and secure.
Protecting Mission
We are called not simply to be busy, but to be faithful. These policies exist to guard the clarity of our calling, ensuring that our ministries remain rooted in Christ and shaped by the vision he has given us. They help us grow without losing our way.
