Children & families at St Luke’s

Hello! My name is Serena and I am the Children & Families Minister here at St Luke’s Church.

We love to welcome children & families to our community and we celebrate the uniqueness & value of every single one.

We have lots going on for children & families at St Luke’s, with more planned throughout the year, so, watch this space for more information.

Every Sunday there are various children’s groups for children aged 0-11 years, Sparklers for babies - 4 years, Rockets for 5-11 years and Explorers for 8-11 years. We start in the church at 10am for family worship and then go out to the Church Centre.

Each week we have a Bible focus and mix this theme/focus with fun games/activities, personal reflection, craft, song, togetherness & prayer.

Here at St Luke’s we like to host parties in the church for KS1 & KS2 children & their families. These parties include seasonal crafts and activities, games, Bible story, song, prizes & hot food for all. Previous parties in the church have included a Coronation Party and a Beach Party.

We also like to celebrate the outdoors at St Luke’s and bi-monthly we produce a family nature trail within the grounds of St Luke’s Church & the centre.

These trails are an opportunity to celebrate our Church being an Eco Church and also to encourage wandering and wondering in the green space surrounding the church and centre, whilst following a nature trail and taking part in suggested activities and crafting as you explore.

Every week a team of volunteers deliver either an Infant/Junior-aged assembly at Moorlands School using the storytelling series, ‘Open the Book’.
