Harvest Thanksgiving & Gift Day

Sunday 18th October 2020

This year our Gift Day and Harvest Sunday Celebration will be on Sunday 18th October. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, we aren’t able to hold our usual Harvest Thanksgiving & Gift Day Sunday service, so this year all the information is online.

If you would like to make an offering to our Harvest Thanksgiving and/or Gift Day, the details for both are below:-

Who are we supporting through our Harvest Thanksgiving Offering?

Unlike other years when we brought forward all those tins of soup, pasta, biscuits and all the other foods that were then collected by Bath Foodbank, our Harvest offering can only be in the form of a financial gift which will be given to the Genesis Project to provide food for the food banks and homeless people of Bath.

If you would like to give an offering for this cause, you can do so in two ways:-

  • By coming along to the 9.00am Sunday service and using the envelopes provided, marked ‘Harvest Sunday offering’. This can be cash or cheques made payable to ‘St. Luke’s PCC’.

  • By bank transfer to the St. Luke’s PCC bank account, with the reference ‘Harvest Sunday’. If you are not sure of the bank details, please contact our treasurer, Ruth Sara using the number in the Church Directory.

Who are we supporting through our Gift Day Offering?

In past years our Gift Day offering has been divided between St. Luke’s Local Mission and the 9 mission organisations that we are linked to, with 3 of the mission organisations receiving the majority of the offering every 3 years. This has been done in the following way:-

50% - St. Luke’s Local Mission

12.5% - 1st Mission Link

12.5% - 2nd Mission Link

12.5% - 3rd Mission Link

12.5% - being shared between the remaining 6 Mission Links

This year the PCC have decide to divide all of the Gift Day offering between the 9 mission organisations that we are linked to, in the following way:-

20% - 1st Mission Link

20% - 2nd Mission Link

20% - 3rd Mission Link

40% - being shared between the remaining 6 Mission Links

This year the mission organisations that will receive the majority of the offering are Open the Book, Five Talents and Operation Mobilisation / John Bailey. You can find out more about these three organisations below and information on the other 6 organisations is on our ‘missions’ page of the website.

If you would like to give an offering to our linked mission organisations, you can do so in two ways:-

  • By coming along to the 9.00am Sunday service and using the envelopes provided, marked ‘Gift Day offering’. This can be cash or cheques made payable to ‘St. Luke’s PCC’.

  • By bank transfer to the St. Luke’s PCC bank account, with the reference ‘Gift Day’. If you are not sure of the bank details, please contact our treasurer, Ruth Sara using the number in the Church Directory.
