Idea and Reflection for Nov 22

Idea: Toilet twinning

Have you twinned your toilets? Three of St Luke’s toilets have been twinned, one by our Brownies. You might like to pray for the communities we have helped in this way. They are in Mwandinga, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rutale, Uganda, and Kisoro, Uganda (you can see the details in the toilets).

Reflection: A good creation (Genesis 1.1-25)

The opening words of Genesis are majestic. God is before everything and created everything. All things originate in a creator God. God’s declares creation to be ‘good’, seven times. God values every bit of creation and did so before humans came into being. Each part therefore has value in its own right, and we should approach it with the view that it belongs to God, and not to ourselves. The goodness of creation depends on the value placed on it by God. There are plenty of human reasons why we should look after nature, but can we value it as God does, for its own sake?
